GAPCA is a US-based, forward-thinking non-profit organization committed to promoting and advocating for the revitalization and adoption of pharmaceutical compounding as a key component of health care delivery for millions of patients across Africa.
Our Vision
We envision an Africa where personalized medicine vis a vis pharmacy compounding thrives and flourishes as a significant component of healthcare delivery.
Our Mission
We are dedicated to raising awareness on the healthcare value chain of pharmacy compounding and advocating for patients’ access to safe and reliable customized medications by supporting specific initiatives that enlighten and empower healthcare providers and the patients.
Compounding returns pharmacists to their original roles as preparers of medication, enabling them to offer personalized care. We are committed to helping the African pharmacy profession, through compounding to get the chance to do pharmacy again and the privilege to get patient outcomes by what they make for the patient, not by what they put into a bottle.
What We Do & Operational Strategy

We are dedicated to raising awareness on the healthcare value chain of pharmacy compounding by supporting interdisciplinary collaborations within the healthcare ecosystem and by sponsoring public education programs that acquaint healthcare professionals and the public with the services and issues related to and benefits of pharmacy compounding for patients.

We are committed to the development and training of confident and skilled pharmacy compounding professionals by empowering them with critical resources that enable them to ultimately become champions of the practice in Africa. This we achieve through WhatsApp discussion forums, webinars, live workshops, conferences, and exchange programs.

We are committed to serving as a data hub and information warehouse for global industry players, catalyzing the development and growth of a sustainable compounding ecosystem in Africa.

We are committed to speaking, advocating and collaborating with pharmacy regulators, professional organizations and governments, in developing guidelines for the safe practice of the art and science of pharmacy compounding, and to supporting capacity building within the regulatory regime.

We are committed to encouraging curricular endorsement of the fundamental proficiencies essential to compounding pharmacists through alliances with educational institutions and accreditation bodies.

We are committed to supporting the training and mentoring of pharmacy students and encouraging innovative research through initiatives like boot camps, quiz and essay competitions, internship placements, exchange programs, scholarships and research grants.
